Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 17, 2026 · Applies to the wachive browser extension and this website
1. Chat content never leaves your browser
The wachive extension never collects, stores on our systems, or transmits chat content. All chat processing — parsing, media handling, PDF generation, and voice-note transcription — happens locally in your browser. This is enforced by the extension's Content Security Policy: the only external endpoint the extension is technically able to contact is our license-activation API. Exported files are saved directly to your computer by your browser.
2. The extension's network use — exactly two limited purposes
- One-time license activation. When you purchase a paid plan and activate your key, the extension makes a single call to the wachive activation server (
api.wachive.com). This call transmits license information only: your license key, a random per-install identifier used to enforce per-key activation limits, and — for Firm seats — the firm email you enter. The server returns a signed license that is then verified locally; no recurring calls are made and the extension works fully offline afterwards. - Optional parser-update check. You may optionally configure a URL from which the extension fetches updated WhatsApp-parser selectors. This is off by default, fully user-configured, and transmits no user data.
The extension keeps an on-device network activity log (Preferences → Privacy) listing every network request it has ever made, so you can verify this yourself.
3. Payments
Payments are processed by Paddle on Paddle's own checkout pages, in a normal browser tab outside the extension. We receive from the payment process the information needed to issue your license (name, email, plan purchased). We never see or store your payment card details; those are handled by Paddle under Paddle's privacy policy.
4. What we store, and where
- On your device: your preferences, your license, an optional firm logo, and the debug/network logs — all in your browser's extension storage. Debug logs contain structural metadata only, never message content.
- On our systems: license records only — key, purchaser name and email, activation count, and (for firms) seat assignments. This exists solely to issue, validate, and support licenses.
5. Feedback and support
Feedback, parser reports, and firm seat-change requests are sent only when you explicitly initiate them, via your own email client (pre-filled mailto: links) or the website's contact form. You see and can edit the full contents before sending; nothing is ever submitted silently.
6. No analytics, no tracking
The extension contains no analytics, telemetry, or third-party trackers of any kind. This website is a static page and sets no cookies for tracking and runs no analytics scripts. The only cookie this site uses is a language preference you set yourself with the language selector.
7. Health information (HIPAA note)
Because chat content is processed entirely on your device and never transmitted to us, no protected health information (PHI) ever reaches wachive, and no Business Associate Agreement is needed. wachive is a tool, not a compliance program: using WhatsApp itself to communicate PHI may violate HIPAA regardless of how chats are exported. Consult your compliance officer or counsel.
8. Data retention and your rights
License records are kept for as long as needed to honor your perpetual license. To ask about, correct, or delete the license information we hold about you, reach us via the contact form. Everything stored on your device can be removed at any time via Preferences → Privacy → "Clear all local data", or by uninstalling the extension.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Material changes will be noted in the extension's bundled changelog.
